Daily budget calculator for LinkedIn and Meta ads
Turn a monthly budget into the daily budgets to type into Campaign Manager and Ads Manager, counting the days left in the month. Free, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
Why your daily spend won't match exactly
A daily budget is an average, not a hard daily limit. Both platforms spend more on days with better opportunities and less on others, then balance it out over the week.
- Meta
- Can spend up to 75% over your daily budget on a single day, but never more than 7 times your daily budget in a week (Sunday to Saturday). If you turn on ad set budget sharing, that rises to up to 110% over on a day.
- Can spend up to 100% over your daily budget on a single day (double), but never more than 7 times your daily budget in a week (Monday to Sunday). With an end date, the total never goes over the daily budget times the number of days.
Minimum daily budgets
LinkedIn asks for at least US$10 a day per ad set (Campaign Manager shows the exact minimum in your currency). Meta's minimum depends on your country, currency and what you optimise for; it's roughly US$1 a day for impressions and more for clicks or conversions, and Ads Manager warns you if you're under it. If you set a cost per result goal on Meta, it recommends a daily budget of at least 5 times that goal.
Tips
- Give each campaign an end date on the last day of the month, so spending stops when the month does.
- Starting mid-month or already part-way through? Enter what's been spent, and the calculator spreads what's left over the remaining days.
- Small budgets go further in fewer campaigns: a platform needs enough results each week to learn who to show your ads to.
